The Giza

The Giza area contains Egypt's most illustrious monuments: the Pyramids and great Sphinx. Only 12km from Cairo, it's a community where many employees in Cairo reside. At dusk, from the main roadway, the colossal structures jut out into the sky, appearing to tower over the village homes and shops. A reminder of the past, they are dark purple shadows of another distant era.

From Giza, you can choose to travel across the desert to see several rarely visited pyramids as well as the pyramids at Sakkara even further to the south.
