Pearl Necklace

A Pearl necklace is generally worn and desired by the women all over the world since immemorial time. The necklace can be made from all shades of the pearl stones available with a monocolor pearls or with a Combination of different colors. The pearl necklace is most common among the Rajput kings and queens in Rajasthan and the royal family of Britain It's a tradition in the royal family to endorse the pearl necklaces during important events. The English Queen Elizabeth can be seen often sporting a White pearl necklace too. The Pearl necklace is equally well matched with a traditional dress like a Sari and also looks trendy with the modern dress as well.

Necklaces are generally made according to the requirements of the person and can contain a combination of pearls of different sizes and colors. Depending on the preference and budget, they can be made just single piece with only one round of pearls or with multiple rounds too. The cost of the earrings is determined by the number of pearl stones it contains and the support material required. Pearls can be matched with gold, silver and platinum with equal ease mainly because of the natural color of the pearl stone and the lusture it has. Pearl necklace made with a combination of pearls and platinum are very common and popular and have a good market all across the world. The most common and popular styles of it are:

Bib: It is composed of a variety of pearls which are of varying length.

Collar or Dog Collar: This design is basically formed by multitude of pearl strands which are 12-13 inches long and is worn quite high on the neck. The style had its origin in the Victorian Era and is now gaining popularity again.

Choker: More or less similar to the collar, it is worn quite lower on the neck and is generally 14-16 inches in length.

Princess: This is called the classic style of pearl necklace which lies just a little below the neck and is 17-19 inches in length. It is the most popular one as it can be worn with almost all kinds of neckline.

Matinee: The matinee gives a vintage look to a person and is 20-24 inches long , mostly worn on informal occasions.

Opera: The opera style is mostly worn on the formal occasions with the evening dress where the necklace must fall a little below the bust line and is normally 30-36 inches long.

Rope: As the name suggests, the rope style necklace is the longest and can be doubled as well as knotted to make it easily manageable. Its length may vary anywhere between 36 inches at the lower end and 42 inches at the higher end.
