1958: Became Grand Imam of al-Azhar (under his tenure, al-Azhar worked to unite the ranks of Muslims worldwide)
1973: Represented Egypt in The Hague Conference
Published numerous books and researches some of which were translated into English, French and German
Died on December 12, 1963
